TBI Clinic

I really was so lucky to get this job.  It was exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it, and for how long I wanted it.  I would call it a miracle.  However, it did come with challenges.  It was not easy for us both to work full time and we were putting out fires constantly, ie: babysitter's kid sick, car broke down, kid needs to come home early, babysitter bailed, etc...  I didn't get any vacation time and so it was a little sad to work during the holidays.  But we made it!  The full 6 months.  I enjoyed being a professional again and learned a ton.  It made me appreciate even more the service the military personnel provide for our country.

Below is me trying to figure out childcare.  With 3 kids in 3 different schools and schedules, it was a challenge.  I had 3 different babysitters for the different days but the last month, I was down to one as one no longer worked out and another was about to have a baby.  I was very lucky to have such nice friends to help out.

One of my favorite stories about Johanna, the German babysitter, is when she took Luke and Tessa to the Science museum.  They were speaking German to each other and a lady came up to her and said, "You need to teach your children better grammar."  She explained that they were not her children and not German.  We thought that was such a nice compliment that our kids fooled her into thinking they were German.

Lion King

Luke's class put on the play Lion King.  Luke was part of the musicians but got to dance and sing with the chorus.  It was such a cute play and fun to see it in German.

Malta Day 3

On Sunday, we went to church.  It was a sweet branch with ex-patriots and locals.  Right next to the church was this massive basilica.  We made our way by boat to Valletta to a Carnival parade.  It was full of people dressed up, music and colorful floats.   We then checked out Fort Saint Elmo which had some great exhibits and views.

For Dinner, I believe Luke got ahold of my phone and took some candid photos.

Brooklynne got us into the Sky Lounge with her card.  With her, we travel in style.

Malta Day 2

The 1980 Popeye movie with Robin Williams was filmed here in Malta.  They had to build the whole city and now it is a tourist attraction.  Popeye, Olive Oyl and Bluto were here.  Ryan downloaded the music from the movie created by Harry Nilsson and we sing it all the time.

We then took a ferry to Gozo and went to Ggantija (meaning Giantess) which is a multi stone temple older than the pyramids of Egypt or more than 5500 years ago.  It is the second oldest existing manmade religious structure second to one in Turkey.  The temples are elements of a ceremonial site for fertility.

Then we went to the spot of the iconic Azure window (famous arch) that unfortunately collapsed two years earlier.  The Mediterranean Sea was still beautiful with big crashing waves.
