Halloween

When Sam told me he wanted to be Marshmello, I thought that was a strange request.  I had never heard of DJ Marshmello until Sam educated us with his music.  We thought that it was pretty cool there was a duplicate Pippi and Marshmello at church Halloween parties.
Also, we stopped by our elderly neighbors to show them our costumes and had a difficult time explaining who Luke was.  I thought everyone would know America's 16th president but I sure don't know Germany's 16th chancellor.

Our favorite Primary President and Luke and Tessa's teacher
They still call each other Pippi months later; it is their special bond.

Taking apart the TV

When we first moved here, Ryan plugged in our 110v TV into the 220v and it exploded.
He has promised the kids that they could take it apart.  Finally, we stopped procrastinating
and let the kids have at it.  They loved seeing the magic inside.

Sintra

We took the train to Sintra

This brightly colored palace on the top of Sintra was literally in the clouds.

Quinta da Regaleira

After this we walked into the city and we ate at a delicious Indian restaurant and the kids got ... a lot of cheese pizzas :)

Lisbon

We made it to Lisbon in the evening and walked through the city.  Brooklynne flew in to join us and the next night Rachael's sister, Natasha, flew in too!  We hit all the top sites.

The line was too long so we just walked to it.

Brooklynne took us out to listen to Fado music while the Harshbargers watched our kids.
Fado is the haunting music that wafts out from the small bars of the Bairro Alto and Alfama districts of LisbonFado comprises of a mournful sounding solo singer accompanied by a classical Portuguese guitar. ... No visit to Lisbon is complete without experience this traditional and emotional style of music.

We ate this chicken EVERY NIGHT!  We still think of it and our mouth waters.
