Melanie turns 30
We went to Colorado over Labor Day weekend and got to spend Melanie's 30th birthday with her at our old stomping grounds in Colorado Springs. There we went and ate at Rudy's, then headed over to Rockledge Ranch. Soaking up memories of our little guys running around and fishing in the stream years earlier. Oh my goodness, we thought those boys were so big at the time! It's crazy to see how they've grown. But they adore each other just the same.
The boys found a new awesome spot, at Rockledge Ranch. They found this tunnel type of place, created with the branches growing over the path and touching each other. Only the little ones could walk through it comfortably, the rest of us had to crawl. Later there was a deer waiting at the opening for them. It was gorgeous. The boys got to pet the 22 + year old cow, they fished in the stream (just like old times), climbed the old tree, and Rivers favorite part, found a fuzzy caterpillar.
After visiting the ranch, we headed over to Manitou Springs. There the boys did racing and shooting games, they did all the old school rides, climbed the slick rocks, and ate my favorite custard in all the world. Oh the day was simply spectacular. What a treasure to get to spend that special day with Melanie and Rivers! Melanie took all of these pictures. She always captures the best moments.
