We got into Marrakech late and walked through winding
alleyways to our lovely Riad where they made us dinner and tucked us in.
The next morning the Riad prepared a lovely breakfast and then a guide showed us around the city.
Koutoubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakesh
We loved the donkeys pulling carts and the smell of spices. We played a game with the kids where they got points for the animals they saw. One point for every cat, 5 points for donkeys and 10 points for dogs (lots of stray cats).
Bahia Palace
was built in the late 1800's for a sultan with many rooms for his 4 wives and 24 concubines.
It was very ornate capturing both the essence of Islamic and Moroccan style.

We then toured the colorful markets. The people were a little too pushy of salesmen for
our kids but surprisingly, their favorite part was looking at all of the fancy rugs
even though it was a total sales pitch.

We stopped in the city center where there were crowds of people, snakes and monkeys.
Then we had a very yummy dinner on a rooftop with a great view.
