We got back from our trip late Tuesday Oct 10. We went grocery shopping and did laundry all day Oct 11th. On Oct 12th, I dropped April off at the train station at 6:45 a.m. and went right over to Melissa's where I got ready to start filming for HHI at 9 a.m.
I have always loved HGTV and told Ryan years ago that it would be fun to be on House Hunters when we buy a house. Well, when we found out we were moving to Germany, Ryan applied for HHI.
We heard back from them and after filling out a huge questionnaire, doing an audition video, being pitched to the network, and getting clearances from work and renters, we were set to film.
It took 5 full days to film a 22 minute episode.
Day 1: Backstory then with Realtor, Krispina
Day 2: House #1 then with kids going to Art Museum and Dinosaur park
Day 3: House #2 and film with kids going to Zoo
Day 4: House #3
Day 5: Decision and after story with kids
At the end we were SO exhausted
We had to tell the kids to not look at the camera. They first filmed us walking up the stairs to the museum and the kids ONLY looked at the camera. We did it again and Luke closed his eyes and said, "I am closing my eyes because I am so excited!" He didn't want to be tempted to look at the camera.
Ryan asked him if he was excited to go inside. Luke said, "Not too much because we have already been inside." Another funny was the last day when they filmed us around the house with the kids and then said "OK we want to shoot you on the street walking into your house." Luke came to me concerned and said, "They said they are going to SHOOT us on the STREET." Film film film
