Kierkegaard and HCA
Ryan's account: * We are a big fan of celebrity graves, so we made a visit to Kierkegaard and Hans Christian Anderson. What I have read of Kierkegaard is fantastic and his writings on existentialism and Christianity were very refreshing to me in Grad School back in my 20s. The city overall didn't have a lot of green space so some of the locals were sunbathing next to graves, which seemed a little odd, but hey at least they weren't nudists like at some of the beaches.
Cheyney's account: One of the first things we did in Copenhagen was go to the cemetery to see the graves of Kirkegaard, a philosopher Ryan remembers studying in college. He states his philosophy is often quoted in church talks. I mentioned Kirkegaard to Branagan and he immediately began quoting him. The more famous grave we saw was Hans Christian Andersen. Other tour groups were looking for him as well. The cemetery was interesting because it was the only "park" for miles in the city and so there were many sun bathers and people relaxing in the shade.
