After we returned the car, we tried to get on the train and all public transportation was on strike just for Tuesday! What are the odds? We had to take a taxi but no taxis fit 5 people and a van was 80 euros. Ryan was just about to ride with the people behind us and pay them 10 euros when our taxi driver stuffed us all in his car. He haggled us at the end to give him 65 euros instead of 38. We have him 50.
Our apartment was at the base of the Acropolis! Incredible location! We walked and saw it all lit up and then walked to a grocery store, accidentally going through a red light district. Luckily the kids didn’t notice. There were a lot of stray cats. We ate humus, pita and carrots and olives while the kids had spaghetti. The apartment had Netflix and the kids started a cute series about Australian kids solving problems- The InBESTigators. They also watched Hercules and Captain underpants while we stayed there.
