Temple of Poseidon

We arrived at the Athens late at night and google maps sent us on a dirt road that turned into a river.
I got out to see how deep it was and got my shoes covered in mud. We had to turn around in a garden
and drive away from guard dogs. We finally found our hotel and settled in for the night.

On Sunday, we were worried that everything would be closed and it would be difficult to find breakfast but we passed by a glorious bakery and got sandwiches, quiche, donuts and baklava. Then we were off to the Temple of Poseidon. The temple was perched along rugged coast with rocky cliffs and crashing waves. It is amazing that they were able to transport all of the limestone and granite to this site.
It is a perfect place to honor the god of the sea.
